"We are Anonymous. We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget."
When a rogue splinter cell of the hacker collective Anonymous pirates the entire Internet, Lucas thinks it's got nothing to do with him. And he's right. He's just a cop. He doesn't deal with domains or packets, IRCs or FTPs or RIAAs. To Lucas, the Internet is just a bunch of blinking sounds and blaring lights on a neon screen.
But when one of the hackers activates a backdoor trojan Y2K bug virus in the system, it becomes Lucas's business. All secrets are revealed, all lies exposed, everybody is a suspect, and nobody is secure. They whoever they are could be watching you through the nearest payphone, or eavesdropping through your television.
But Lucas has never been one to just give up. When faced with the unthinkable, his only recourse is to do the impossible. They always say that you can't arrest Anonymous, because you'd have to arrest everyone in the world. And, of course, you can't do that. But, Lucas, realizes, has anyone really tried? And so he begins a one-man quest. To shut.
